CVE-2026-55798

MEDIUMPre-NVD 4.54.5
EchelonGraph scoreMEDIUM confidence

This medium-severity CVE scores 4.5 under a secondary CVSS source (NVD's own analysis pending). EPSS exploit probability: 0.1%, top 96% of all CVEs by exploit prediction. GitHub Security Advisory data not yet ingested — confidence will rise once GHSA publishes (typical lag: hours to days for open-source ecosystem CVEs; never for infrastructure-only CVEs).

Pillow is a Python imaging library. Prior to 12.3.0, WindowsViewer.get_command() constructed a cmd.exe shell command by directly embedding a file path into an f-string without escaping and passed the result to subprocess.Popen(..., shell=True), allowing shell metacharacters in the file path to inject arbitrary cmd.exe commands. This issue is fixed in version 12.3.0.
