A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the X360 VideoPlayer ActiveX control (VideoPlayer.ocx) version 2.6 when handling overly long arguments to the ConvertFile() method. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by supplying crafted input to cause memory corruption and execute arbitrary code within the context of the current process.
CVE-2025-34128
This high-severity CVE scores 8.6 under NVD CVSS v3. EPSS exploit probability: 0.9%, top 46% of all CVEs by exploit prediction. GitHub Security Advisory data not yet ingested — confidence will rise once GHSA publishes (typical lag: hours to days for open-source ecosystem CVEs; never for infrastructure-only CVEs).
- Public exploit code is available (Metasploit, ssvc poc, public exploit)
No vendor fix yet — apply a workaround or compensating control (WAF / firewall / segmentation) and watch for a patch.
